Binance has announced the listing of new perpetual contracts for two low-market-cap tokens, YALA and CARV, with leverage up to 50x. This move follows the recent delisting of MEMEFI futures and may signal a new focus for the exchange on smaller, emerging assets.

Both tokens saw their value jump by about 9% after the announcement. The two tokens have different functions:

  • YALA is a Bitcoin-native liquidity protocol that allows users to earn yield on their BTC. Before the announcement, it had a market cap of $45 million.
  • CARV is a modular identity and data layer for Web3, AI, and gaming. It helps users and AI agents manage their data. Its market cap was around $80 million prior to the listing.

The performance of these new contracts could influence Binance's future strategy, but it’s still too early to tell if this is the start of a new trend for the exchange.
