BlackRock, the world's largest investment firm, is significantly increasing its holdings in cryptocurrency through its Ethereum spot ETF (ETHA). On August 25, the firm made a massive single-day investment of $314.9 million into the fund, one of its largest inflows since trading began.
This move was part of a larger trend, as other major players also saw substantial capital inflows. Fidelity attracted $87.4 million, while Bitwise and Grayscale's ETH funds added $9.7 million and $53.3 million, respectively. Smaller gains were also seen from Invesco and 21Shares. In total, Ethereum spot ETFs brought in a combined $443.9 million in fresh capital on that day alone.
This trend of large investments isn't new. Just days earlier, on August 22, BlackRock recorded another $109.4 million inflow, and on August 21, it saw an even larger inflow of $233.6 million. These consistent, large-scale investments highlight BlackRock's strong interest in Ethereum.
The investment surge coincides with Ethereum's recent price momentum, as it briefly reached a new all-time high close to the $5,000 mark. Although the cryptocurrency has since pulled back to around $4,530, it is still up over 8% in the past week. According to the article, maintaining the $4,500 support level is crucial for Ethereum to continue its upward trajectory and potentially reach the $5,000 milestone.
