Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, announced a new roadmap on August 22 to bridge the Cardano and XRP ecosystems, aiming to move past years of rivalry. His plan includes several key initiatives to foster a more collaborative future.

XRP Integration into Lace Wallet

By the end of 2025, XRP will be integrated into Lace, Cardano’s official light wallet. This will allow users to store, send, and receive XRP directly, without needing third-party applications. Hoskinson framed this move as part of Cardano's broader strategy to become a multi-chain platform, making it easier for XRP holders to engage with the Cardano ecosystem.

XRP’s Role in the Midnight Project

Hoskinson also highlighted a deeper integration for XRP in Midnight, Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain. An estimated 2.21 million XRP wallets are eligible to receive an airdrop of 2.6 billion NIGHT tokens. To support this, a dedicated team for XRP will be formed within the Midnight project to explore commercial privacy use cases. This move is intended to add significant weight to the project and signals a more open, multi-chain approach.

A Joint Event to Foster Unity

In a symbolic gesture to mend community rifts, Hoskinson proposed a joint Cardano-XRP event. He suggested inviting key community leaders, like pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton, to help put an end to the past hostility between the two communities. This event is intended to be a public display of unity, replacing rivalry with collaboration.

Overall, Hoskinson's roadmap, which includes wallet integration, project collaboration, and community events, signifies a shift toward a more cooperative crypto industry. This partnership could strengthen both ecosystems, positioning Cardano as a serious multi-chain player and providing XRP with direct involvement in Cardano's key projects.
