Grayscale Investments has filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to create a new exchange-traded fund (ETF). This ETF would focus on two major cryptocurrencies: Polkadot (DOT) and Cardano (ADA).
This is Grayscale’s latest effort to expand its product offerings beyond its successful Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. The company aims to give both institutional and retail investors a new way to gain exposure to leading layer-1 blockchain protocols without having to directly own the crypto.
Polkadot is known for its focus on interoperability, while Cardano is recognized for its research-based approach to scalability. By packaging these assets into an ETF, Grayscale hopes to drive wider adoption of these cryptocurrencies among mainstream investors.
