Grayscale has officially launched options trading for its Grayscale Solana Trust ETF (GSOL), giving investors new derivative tools to manage their exposure to the Solana (SOL) price.

This move is notable because GSOL is designed to offer the benefits of Solana staking yield alongside exposure to the asset's price:

  • Staking Yield: Currently, 100% of the fund's assets are staked, generating an average gross annualized staking reward of 7.04%. These rewards are distributed to fund participants.
  • Fee Structure: The fund operates with a 0% gross expense ratio until the fund reaches $1 billion in assets or the initial fee waiver ends on February 5, 2026. Afterward, the management fee will be 0.35%.
  • Institutional Infrastructure: Grayscale highlights GSOL as a regulated vehicle offering institutional-grade infrastructure for yield strategies tied to Solana’s Proof-of-Stake protocol.

GSOL's Role in the Solana Ecosystem:

The launch of options coincides with strong market momentum for Solana ETFs, which have seen 10 consecutive days of net inflows, accumulating over $340 million in capital. Grayscale views GSOL as a product offering exposure to one of the "fastest-growing digital assets" and aims to bridge traditional finance and on-chain yield generation.

By combining staking income, a zero-fee period, and derivatives availability, GSOL is positioned as a comprehensive institutional vehicle for accessing the Solana ecosystem.
