Ondo Finance, a leading firm in tokenized real-world assets, today announced the launch of its flagship tokenized US dollar yield product, USDY, on the Sei Network. This strategic move marks USDY as the first US Treasury bond-backed asset to be natively integrated onto the ultra-fast Sei blockchain, significantly enhancing Sei's credibility as a platform for institutional-grade financial products.

USDY: Bridging TradFi and DeFi with Yield

USDY is designed to combine the accessibility and liquidity of a stablecoin with the attractive yield and robust protections typically found in traditional finance. Backed by short-term US Treasuries and bank demand deposits, USDY currently offers a competitive 4.25% APY (updated monthly) to eligible non-U.S. investors. This innovative product provides a new avenue for global individuals and institutions to access the utility of stablecoins while earning a high-quality, dollar-denominated yield.

The deployment on the Sei Network highlights Ondo Finance's ongoing expansion strategy. USDY is already available across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Mantle, and Sui, with a total value locked (TVL) exceeding $680 million across these networks. Its arrival on Sei positions the network as a key destination for institutional financial products in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

Sei Network's Infrastructure Attracts Institutional Adoption

Sei Network's robust infrastructure, characterized by near-instant finality and parallelized execution, makes it uniquely suited to handle the demands of institutional-grade financial products like USDY. This integration is expected to boost Sei Network's TVL and reflects a growing market interest in composable yield primitives and institutional applications within the blockchain ecosystem.

Justin Barlow, Executive Director at the Sei Development Foundation, emphasized this synergy: "Sei's breakthrough infrastructure... makes it uniquely suited for institutional-grade financial products, and USDY represents the exact kind of high-quality, composable yield primitive that will unlock new possibilities for developers building the next generation of onchain applications."

This collaboration not only advances Ondo Finance's mission of democratizing access to institutional-grade financial products but also reinforces Sei's vision of building scalable infrastructure for high-performance digital asset markets. The addition of USDY meets the growing demand for real-world asset exposure on fast, composable chains, signifying a pivotal step towards unlocking the next generation of on-chain financial applications.
