After a period of quiet, the altcoin market is showing signs of renewed life, with the Altcoin Season Index climbing from 34 to 50.

As August 2025 begins, the crypto market is experiencing a cautious altcoin season. Although the Altcoin Season Index is below 40, indicating strong Bitcoin dominance, some altcoins are gaining traction.

A historic shift has occurred in the cryptocurrency market as Ethereum ETFs have surpassed Bitcoin ETFs in terms of daily inflows for the first time.

In the past three weeks, the cryptocurrency market has experienced a remarkable surge, with the total market capitalization rising from $1.828 trillion to $2.261 trillion—a nearly 20% increase.

On September 16, Bitcoin dominance surged to 58%, marking its highest level since April 2021. This milestone comes after a prolonged period of gradual increase in Bitcoin's market share, highlighting a significant shift in the cryptocurrency landscape.

While the long-awaited approval of an Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded fund (ETF) by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a positive development for the cryptocurrency industry, industry experts caution that it does not necessarily signal a wave of crypto ETF approvals in the near future.
