Venga, an all-in-one cryptocurrency platform, has announced the availability of its mobile application in both Catalan and Spanish, aiming to provide a truly localized Web3 experience. The app, which will operate natively in Catalan, features an intuitive interface, robust security, a strong educational focus, and a compliance-first approach.
Venga is already registered as a licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider by the Bank of Spain and Poland’s Ministry of Finance. Earlier this year, the platform submitted a pre-application for a MiCA license, aligning with the EU’s new regulatory framework for the crypto sector, which came into effect on December 31, 2024. Michael Stroev, CEO of Venga, emphasized their commitment to a compliance-first approach from day one.
The Venga mobile app provides EU citizens with access to decentralized finance (DeFi) features, crypto trading, and staking. Its intuitive user experience aims to simplify entry into the Web3 and blockchain ecosystem for beginners. By integrating Catalan and Spanish, Venga offers tailored services, including named IBANs, crypto exchange capabilities, and earning products, catering directly to these linguistic communities.
"Since I moved to Barcelona in 2020, it has been my dream to build a startup that truly feels local and has a product and service tailored to Catalan and Spanish speakers and communities," stated Michael Stroev. "Having the languages available in our app is the beginning of our broader objective to create a hyper-localized Venga experience for Barcelona, Catalunya, and all of Spain."
The inclusion of Catalan and Spanish was significantly influenced by Venga's team, with CTO Raul Arribas and nearly a third of the staff being Catalan. Recognizing that approximately 20% of the ten million Catalan speakers currently use crypto but lack services in their native tongue, Venga aims to fill this gap. The Catalan language is spoken across Catalonia, the Valencia region, Andorra, the Balearic Islands, Eastern Aragon, Roussillon (southern France), and parts of Sardinia (Italy).
Raul Arribas, CTO of Venga, expressed his delight at providing a crypto app in his native language, enabling users to navigate the crypto ecosystem in the language of his childhood. He added that this offering supports Spain’s leading languages, empowering users to explore confidently.
Venga was founded to address the historical challenges faced by crypto-curious individuals when onboarding to the on-chain economy. The platform highlights how traditional banks and payment providers often treated crypto users with suspicion, raising their risk profiles and sometimes denying access to essential financial services. Venga, in contrast, treats crypto users as valued clients, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of customer care and support throughout their onboarding journey.
This customer-centric approach has instilled confidence in users and is paving the way for collaborations with local companies and organizations dedicated to advancing crypto education and expanding access to blockchain services. The Venga app is currently available for download on both iOS and Android devices.
