Coinbase, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the inclusion of Bio Protocol (BIO) and Euler (EUL) to its asset listing roadmap, a move that has already sparked significant market reactions and notable price increases for both tokens. The announcement, shared via X (formerly Twitter), signals potential future trading on the platform, although the actual launch remains contingent on various factors.
Following Coinbase's announcement, both Bio Protocol (BIO) and Euler (EUL) saw immediate price surges. BIO, an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token, jumped from $0.0612 to $0.0669, marking an initial 9.31% increase. This upward trend continued, with BIO trading at $0.0733 at the time of reporting, reflecting an overall gain of 18.99% since the news broke.
EUL also experienced a rapid ascent, rising from $13.51 to $16.50, a substantial 22.22% uptick. However, EUL quickly shed most of these gains, stabilizing at $13.52 by press time, indicating a more modest 0.17% rise.
Coinbase has clarified that the actual launch of trading for BIO and EUL is dependent on securing sufficient market-making support and technical infrastructure. The exchange will make a separate announcement once these conditions are met, a standard procedure designed to manage expectations and mitigate risks for users.
Furthermore, Coinbase issued a crucial warning to potential investors: depositing these assets into a Coinbase account before an official listing announcement could lead to the permanent loss of funds.
This recent development aligns with a consistent pattern observed when Coinbase updates its asset roadmap. Previously, on July 25, the exchange added ResearchCoin (RSC) to its roadmap, which triggered an approximately 82% price surge for the token. Earlier last week, Coinbase also included BankrCoin (BNKR), Jito Staked SOL (JITOSOL), and Metaplex (MPLX) in its roadmap, leading to similar market reactions. Notably, JITOSOL and MPLX were listed shortly after their roadmap inclusion, while BNKR trading is yet to be announced.
The current Coinbase asset roadmap now features QCAD (QCAD), Bio Protocol (BIO), Euler (EUL), BankrCoin (BNKR), and ResearchCoin (RSC). Coinbase has emphasized that this is not an exhaustive list of all assets under consideration and that assets not currently on the roadmap are not precluded from potential future listings. The exchange also cautioned that various factors could lead to delays or removal of assets from consideration, underscoring that the roadmap should not be taken as a guarantee of listing.
